Easter A Week Early

Crystal is really good about finding local events for the girls to enjoy.  When she mentioned that our local park was hosting a {FREE} Easter Egg Hunt, it was a definite yes!

We made the short walk to the park right before the egg hunt begun.

We got there just in time for the 1-2 year old egg hunt.  Basically the community marked off a large area with some flags and then scattered the eggs in the grass.

And yes, the Easter Bunny and Easter Chick were there making a special appearance.

Ready, Set…

Go!

And within minutes, she was done!

Next up were the 3-4 year olds.

Off she went!  Hailey scored a sweet spot, lots eggs and no one around.

After their egg quota was satisfied, Hailey tested out the jumpers while Noelle and I walked around to the few booths that were there.

Noelle scored a Chino PD sticker and a gift bag full of avocados.  The landscaping company that does our community also owns an avocado farm and were passing out bags full!

Once we made our rounds, we grabbed some grub from the Carl’s Jr Food truck and then headed home to eat it since it started to drizzle.

It was a small event, but considering it was free it was a great Saturday afternoon distraction!

Happy 31st To Me

Yep…31 years old.

IMG_0539

And boy I look tired!  Jeff put the 1 on the cake to represent the 1 in 31.  We kept the celebration low key and had some dinner at Ra and then cake at home.  Today I had breakfast with my dad and then a massage with my mom at a new place.

And now the husband and I are hanging out on the couch with this girl.

Good night!!

My last day being 30

On my last day of being 30, I fell going up an escalator.

IMG_0489

But more on that in a bit.  On Monday, C&C went out for breakfast with mom while I watched the little nieces.

IMG_0490

Hailey showed off her b-ball skills, complete with dunking from BEHIND the basket.

Look at those jumping skills!

And then she would dunk the ball and jump from the couch.  Right after this picture I told her to stop so she didn’t hurt herself.

IMG_0499

Oh, maybe after this shot?

IMG_0500

Oops…maybe not…

IMG_0501IMG_0502IMG_0503

Yesterday Jeff went to Restaurant Depot and bought a TON of food to freeze for the future.  Can you tell he was excited?

And now the escalator…Jeff and I went to Macy’s yesterday to go look at couches.  We had looked on that floor and then began to make our way downstairs.  I stepped on the escalator first and as soon as I was on it, Jeff say more couches.  I was soooo close to the top, I just turned around and began to run up the escalator.

It would have been fine, but my legs were tired from our run earlier that morning and I miscalculated the distance to step off…and fell to both knees on the escalator.  It was funny, but man my knees hurt after.  Shannon tried to console me by saying “at least no one saw you”.  No one EVER sees me fall.  I’ve fallen now 3 times at public establishments and no store person ever sees me.  :(

And that’s how my last day being thirty went down.  Hopefully 31 doesn’t start out the same way!

John’s Incredible Pizza

Living in SoCal we are definitely spoiled with good weather.  But of course, the one day we had plans while my mom was down is the one day it rains.  Since our amusement park plans were now cancelled, Danny suggested John’s Incredible Pizza.

We got there just as the rain started to pick up and the place was PACKED.  When we headed to the front doors, there was a huge line outside…in the rain.  Thankfully Danny got there first and we forced mom to the front to order the food and then squeezed in when we could.  You could tell people were NOT happy we were cutting in line…oh well.

As soon as we paid, we lucked out with finding a table though.  All the girls sat down while Chad and Danny got the kids their food.

They mostly have pizza but also had some pasta, potatoes and dessert – typical pizza place food.  When it was dessert time, the girls each got their own ice cream cone.

IMG_0457

Noelle ended up eating hers bottom side up.  Eventually the ice cream just fell out.

As soon as we finished eating, we made our way over to the ride/game section.  It reminded me of Dave and Busters but more geared towards the 10-13 year old range.  There were some smaller rides that we went on first.

And then Brooklyn opted to go on a ride that shoots straight up and then down.  Kalea didn’t want to go on it and Hailey said it was “not safe”.  (Although later she went on it with Brooklyn and had her hands up in the air.  Apparently she put another little boy to shame who was close to tears.)

After that ride, the girls took Danny on a much more adventurous ride.  They swung around in a circle while Danny could also turn their car around.  I was worried about Kalea, but all the girls had a great time!

And the last ride for the day, the mini  merry go round.

I love that picture of Hailey on the pony.  Head thrown back and laughing.  And Chad was just holding his hand out to give a hi five as each girl passed him.

It was definitely a crazy place to be, but the girls had fun so we’ll call it a successful outing in the rain!
