Some of my favorites

Back in June Jeff and I went on our regular CH hike and I never blogged our picks.  Since they feel like “you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all” here are only a couple of cute ones.

It was pretty cool to see such a vibrant flower on the side of a dried hill.

A little beggar

Most dogs will do some level of begging in their lives, but Chloe really excels at it.  Generally you can tell what she is begging for.  It’s usually what ever is being forked into your mouth.

However, when Jeff snapped the below picture he wasn’t eating.  You could tell she wanted something with that jedi mind stare, but Jeff wasn’t sure what.

Tune Up Time!

In preparation for our upcoming Laughlin trip Jeff has been helping my dad with the seadoos.  We had to make a quick stop so he could do some work and I was able to hang out with these two ladies for a short time.

Brooky practiced driving the boat.

While Kalea practiced sitting in the boat, ha!

After awhile Chloe insisted in joining in on the fun and barked until we brought her into the boat.  I wish the weather was better so we could bring her, but in 110+ degree weather she would do horrible.

Now we’re home and I’m getting ready for another work trip!

An Olympic Morning

It’s started!!

Last night Jeff and I watched the opening ceremony (actually I only watched half…I was tired!)  And this morning the sports spectating begins!

I can’t wait until the Track and Field events start next week, but until then I guess the men’s swimming is just going to have to do.  Winking smile

The Underdog strikes again!

Our final night in Livermore had us going back to Underdog Wine Bar.  This time we sat outside to enjoy the nice weather.

IMG_0186

This time I decided to order a flight of wine with my meal.

The grapes are still green but should be ready for harvesting in a few months!

Nonni’s Bistro

Our first night in Livermore our group headed out to Nonni’s Bistro in Downtown Pleasanton.  I’m not sure what reasons you would have to be in Pleasanton but if you find yourself in the area, head over to Nonni’s for dinner!

We ate inside but next to an their large open window so we could still enjoy the sights outside.

I ordered the special of the night, seared scallops over roasted vegetable risotto.  Jeff, please recreate this ASAP!

The scallops were cooked perfectly and the risotto, so good!  Of the restaurants I’ve eaten at while traveling, this is my favorite!

Blogger Issues

Since I'm not traveling with my wonderful home computer, unfortunately I don't have Windows Live Writer accessable. I tried to log on to blogger to post, but the only available button is to create a hyperlink. That means no pictures. :( I'm going to try posting from my phone, but we'll see if that works.

Banana Wasted

Poor Kalea passed out mid banana eating.  At least she kept her leftovers off the ground for later!

Underdog Wine Bar

Another week of work travel is done!  This time business took me to Livermore, CA.  We were able to head out for dinner after business was done and made our way to the Underdog Wine Bar at Concannon Vineyard

The wine bar had small plates that were paired with a trio of tastings.  I still wasn’t feeling too well so I stayed with a trio of sliders and iced tea.

From left to right: crab cake slider, cheeseburger slider, pulled pork slider.

The best one was the pulled pork slider.  So good!

The next night our group headed over to the Gay Nineties Pizza Co for dinner.

2012-07-18_18-08-49_778

Dinner was just pizza but the restaurant itself has a crazy history - complete with a brothel, a full figured lady ghost and underground tunnels!

This was the first time I’d been to Livermore and the weather was very nice!  The only bad thing…I left a pair of shoes and a phone charger behind at the hotel.  Thankfully the hotel located them and are holding them for me!

If there is any doubt in your mind…

IMG_0117

…that this dog is spoiled, this should dash that doubt.  The slob is up next to Jeff, belly up.  I swear she’s giving me the stink eye because I woke her up.

San Diego Hiking

We’re back!!  Although we really never went anywhere.  I didn’t realize it’s been a week since I last posted.

This last week I had to travel down to San Diego and since it was an overnight trip, my boss coordinated a nice hike down by the beach and then dinner after.  I can’t remember the name of the beach but it was by Torrey Pines.  We parked and then began the ascent up to the cliffs.

IMG_0121

I had asked the day before it it was going to be a hike on dirt paths and I guess that didn’t translate into what I actually meant…do I need to wear work out clothes.  So…I wore jeans a t-shirt and a cardigan.  I was a hot mess at the end!  LOL  Smile

The trail had some pretty views of the cliffs and always the ocean in the background.

IMG_0128

We had a couple of golfers in our group, my boss included who were excited about passing by Torrey Pines.

We began to make our descent to finish the hike with a walk along the beach.

There was a little squirrel on the beach who let me get pretty close to him without moving.

After our hike we went straight to dinner at Bud’s Louisiana CafĂ©.  It was a great southern restaurant that served some traditional Louisiana food.  I had some shrimp, salad and we shared beignets and bread pudding for dessert.

After dinner we headed back to our respective hotels – yep we were all at different hotels due to ComicCon…crazy!  I stayed at the Radisson and ended up getting upgraded to a larger king sized room.  My room had a separate sitting area and sink/fridge/microwave.

One of the things that puts a room above average for me is the little extras they provide.  My room had a ton!  Complimentary slippers which worked out perfectly since I forgot to pack mine.

A robe and chocolate on the bed.

Popcorn and water (I actually called to make sure the water was complimentary).

IMG_0169

And…a free cocktail and breakfast.  Nice!

IMG_0175

I crashed and slept so well!  I wouldn’t have thought it but the Radisson ended up being a pretty good stay!

Stay classy San Diego!  Winking smile
