July Catch Up

One more monthly catch up – but this time I finally bought a new camera battery!

We celebrated Kenzie’s first 4th of July and then had Libby over later that weekend.

  

Mackenzie celebrated her first birthday…with her first real illness.  She was out for the count the whole week.  It was a miserable 1st birthday for my baby.

  

My mom came down just in time when Kenzie started to feel better.  We had Kenzie’s 1st birthday party later that week and announced the exciting news of our newest baby Loyd on their way. 

 

 

I had my second prenatel visit which was too early to hear the heartbeat so they let us see it!  This was a very sweet surprise since Jeff and Kenzie were there too.

At the very end of the month we packed up the car to head to Laughlin with the whole family.  Pictures to come!

June Catch Up

Yes, another monthly catch up post!  And still no camera battery…

While in Oceanside, Kenzie went to the beach for the first time and got her toes sandy.  The very next weekend, Jeff did the same mud run again but with a group from work.

We celebrated Shannon’s birthday and tried to get a new cousin picture.

 

Kenzie turned 11 months and we started planning for her birthday party the next month.

We all went to Hailey and Noelle’s first ballet recital, then Shannon and I went to Vanessa’s baby shower and later that night Jeff and I went to a rugby came with Danny and Angela.  All in one day!

We celebrated Jeff’s 1st father’s day and later that week got a little surprise!!

That’s it for June!  July was a busy month – Kenzie’s 1st birthday, stay tuned.

May Catch Up

Time to catch up!  Here’s a brief look at what happened in May.

We celebrated my first Mother’s Day. 

  

Jeff’s wholesaler was in town and we met her at Downtown Disney to say a quick “hi”. We went out to eat after, discovering Kenzie could now drink from a straw!

 

Kenzie had her first visit to Bass Pro – she was not impressed by the fish tank.

 

Jeff won VIP tickets to the Cannondale Tour De California after party.  Kenzie lost her paci and did not enjoy herself.

 

My friend Jessica brought her daughter over for a play date.

  

We had the family over for a Memorial Day barbeque.

  

Jeff and I ran the Laguna Half 5k and then headed down to Oceanside to do the Camp Pendleton Mud Run the very next weekend.

 

  

The rest of the weekend, we hung out at my Aunt & Uncle’s condo enjoying the koi and walking up and down the pier.  They were both down there for the weekend, so we had a lot of fun hanging out.

10 Months

Dear Mackenzie,

We’ve hit double digits!  How did this happen!? 

At your doctor’s appointment you weighed 18lbs 9oz and were 28.5in long. Still in the 50th percentile for weight but moved up to 75th percentile for height. You did not handle your vaccines well and had a fever for a full day after, this was a first poor thing.

I feel like sleep will never be the same for mommy and daddy! You go down around 8pm, but still wake often whenever you are in your crib. You are pretty consistent about waking around 2am for a bottle but go back to sleep quickly. You start to stir around 5:30am and are up for the day at 5:45am. This makes getting ready for the day a challenge for mommy, and the weekends no fun. I keep telling myself this has to be temporary! One day you’ll be a teenager who won’t get out of bed.

You are slowly exerting your independence, but still love to have mommy or daddy hanging out with you while you play with your toys. You are also a little bit of a stinker, swatting at anyone if they get too in your face. You like your space and aren’t afraid to show anyone!

You are getting harder to photograph since you are always on the move.  You are a professional crawler and have even started testing your boundaries by standing up all by yourself for the first time!  I know walking is right around the corner, so I’m trying to treasure these baby moments.

You no longer want to play with baby toys.  You love going after anything you aren’t supposed to have.  Your favorite game right now, tug a war with Chloe.  Poor Chloe always gives up since we taught her to let you have her toys.  You also are learning how to share your toys with Lexi, Aunty Sarah’s other baby.
