Girls Day at Disneyland

Since Jeff always takes Kenzie to Disneyland on their own, I finally decided it was my turn!

A couple weeks ago, Shannon and I decided to head to Disneyland with Kenzie for a girls trip.  Auntie Sarah watched Avery (for the first time!) while we went.  I was a little sad leaving Avery behind, but she did great!

We went a different way and got lost, so ended up at the park around 9am.  It wasn’t too crowded but we knew it would be getting there soon since it was still spring break.  As soon as we got there we headed to Fantasyland but stopped for some pictures in front of the newly remodeled castle.

Kenz and I hopped on to Dumbo, my first time riding with her.  I’m not a fan of the ride.  I’ve decided that now.  She’ll ride with Jeff or Shannon from now on.

We headed over to the carousal next, a Kenzie favorite.

A lot of the rides were closed due to refurbishing for Disney’s anniversary coming up in May.  We did make it onto the Teacups and Small World.  Kenzie is so used to these rides, she tried to turn the teacup when we were on it.

I had a fun day with my sweet girl!  And below are a couple of pictures I found when Jeff went.  Too cute not to post!

Easter Time!

Last year Kenzie was still too tiny to enjoy the regular Easter traditions.  This year, we were able to have a little more fun with her.  Jeff and I both woke up before either of the girls and headed downstairs.

Since we got up early, Jeff made breakfast so it was ready when Kenz woke up.  When Jeff was younger, his mom would hide all his Easter goodies.  Since we don’t have a yard, we both girls’ entire basket outside.  Kenz ate breakfast and then we hinted she should look outside.

She was so excited to find two baskets full of goodies!

We convinced her to bring them inside before she started looking through them.

Since Avery can’t even sit up, we just posed her next to her basket.

We faced time Grandma while the girls wen through her baskets.

Then we got dressed and headed out to my Aunt’s to celebrate with the rest of the family.

We had a very yummy lunch and then the Kenz did the egg hunt with her cousins.  After we all did our traditional confetti eggs.  Thank you Aunty Shannon for buying us premade eggs!!

And to finish off Easter…some family pictures.

Library Story Time

The day after returning from Oceanside, Jeff took Kenzie to story time at our local library.  Since it was the story time right before Easter, they did a craft and an egg hunt!  Kenzie loved it!

They do story time every Tuesday so we are thinking about going back soon.  Later that week my little munchkin turned 6 weeks.  She makes the funniest faces!

2015 Oceanside 70.3

Becoming a 70.3 Ironman one time wasn’t enough for Jeff, he had to do it again this year!  This has been a much more challenging training for Jeff.  Finding time to train was harder this time.  We got sick 3 times leading up to the race, January the flu, February a stomach virus and March a horrible cold.  But he stayed committed to finish the race, and he did!

This year, I saw Jeff off at the start of the swim and then took Kenzie down to the transition area to watch the triathletes bike out.  She loved watching the riders!  I wish I would have snapped a picture.  We caught Jeff going out on the bike ride and then headed back to the condo to wait to catch him on the run.

Shannon stayed back in the condo with this cutie!

We were able to catch him twice on the run, I love that it goes right in front of the condo.  Makes the logistics of spectating with 2 little ones a little easier.  We headed down to the finish shortly after and barely caught Jeff crossing.  The only reason we caught him was because the announcer said his name over the intercom!  He finished in 7:16:39!

The next day we went for a walk around the condo area to burn off some of Kenzie’s energy and give Jeff’s legs a stretch.

Later that day we headed down to the beach to play in the sand.  Kenz was all ready with her sand toys!

IMG953011

Shannon, Avery and I stayed on the sand while Jeff took Kenz down to the water.  It was her first time in the ocean and she did pretty good!

IMG953015

After awhile, they joined us on the sand to do some digging.

Little Bean slept…

The next morning we woke up and started packing up to head home.  Avery & Kenz supervised from the couch.  Looking cute!

Congrats hubby!  He’s already looking for new 70.3 Ironmans for 2017!

Run Hailey, Run!

One of the nice things about being off during the week is being able to attend school functions!  Hailey’s school had a jog-a-thon so Avery, Papa and I headed to her school to spectate.

20150325_121957

The led the kids around their coned off course one time and then started the race.  Unfortunately the kids didn’t grasp the concept and sort of just ran a muck for the first minute.  It was pretty cute.  Finally one of the event coordinators started running the course and the kiddos followed.

20150325_123043 20150325_123214

Hailey did great!  The kids could run a max of 36 laps and she did all 36, roughly 2 miles in warm weather!  At one point they invited siblings and parents to run with the kids.  Her cousin went out to run with her, but man I so wanted to join them!  Instead, I watched Bean sleep-not too bad!
