Kalea’s Cupcake

In an email to Shannon and Daniel, from me.

So...you remember how Kalea didn't finish her cupcake and wanted to "save" it? Well she left it on the table and I meant to cover it and put it away. I thought to myself, at least push the chairs in so Chloe doesn't jump on the table.

So I did that, we went to bed, woke up on Sunday and went to Costco. Came home and about mid afternoon Jeff jokingly picks up the now EMPTY container and says, did you eat this??? I indignantly responded no, did you eat it and we went back and forth like this for some time before we both looked at Chloe who was laying down in her bed.

Yeah, we are pretty sure that darn dog ate the ENTIRE CUPCAKE, wrapper and all. We wandered around the house to see if we could find leftovers and couldn't find any (looked under the coffee table, on our bed, in my closet, in her cage, etc.)

Apparently a small chocolate cupcake is within the "not enough to kill your dog" levels.

Stinking Chloe.

Update:  Chloe is fine, no issues to date.

By Hailey

A couple of weeks ago, I took a random Friday off and took the B&K to meet their younger cousins at the park.  Crystal let Hailey use her camera and Hailey got some pretty good shots!

I think Crystal took the last two.

Part of Me

About six months ago, Brooklyn and Kalea were playing on the computer and I put on Katy Perry’s Last Friday Night video.  The girls thought it was hilarious and became Katy Perry fans almost immediately.

And when her “behind the scenes” MTV episode came on, the girls and I sat on the couch to watch it.

So obviously when her movie came out we had to go see it.

Brooky and I went to the 3D showing (while Kalea had a “special” day with Danny) .  It was taped like a documentary and was a behind the scenes look at her tour and her life in 2011.

There were some serious parts that I thought would looks Brooklyn’s interest, but she did pretty good the whole show.  Thanks for being my KP buddy Brooky!!

Happy Independence Day!

Yesterday we all made it to my Aunt’s and Uncle’s to celebrate July 4th.  My Aunt and Uncle had heated their pool so everyone jumped in!

Except poor Noellie.  She was getting over an ear infection so played with Chad by the side of the pool.

IMG_0058

We got to see Miss Mallorie who is getting bigger and bigger.  So cute!!

After her seeing her sister having so much fun…

…Noelle began to make her move.

And in she went.  Clothes, diaper and all.

It’s sort of random, but I love the way Chloe looks in this picture!

After dinner and dessert we all headed out to the front yard for some fireworks.  We were promised a really good view of the nearby country club’s display…hmmm.

Tin Mine Canyon

Happy Independence Day!!

Jeff and I got up and decided to celebrate our Nation’s birthday with a hike.  We went somewhere different this morning, to Tin Mine Canyon.  The walk into the park was a lot easier than CH State Park!

IMG_0026

Another big difference from our previous hikes?  There was a TON of poison oak.

IMG_0029

IMG_0030

It was literally everywhere!  Jeff and I choose a route that he had never gone down, but was pretty easy to follow.

IMG_0032

This trail had a lot of little information areas.  Below was an exposed fault fracture.  Miners attempted to mine for tin in this area and these rock fractures were what the looked for when they began to dig.

IMG_0033

IMG_0034

We passed by a itty bitty stream…

IMG_0035

Alongside some poison oak…told you…it was every where!!

Further down the trail was one of the mines.  They had boarded it up to prevent hikers from going inside, since bats liked to hang out in there.

We spotted another cave higher up, that wasn’t boarded up.  But it was on top of a steep hill.

Of course Jeff had to see how far he could get up. Do you see him?

IMG_0052

How about now?

IMG_0053

He ended up pretty high but though better of trying to go any higher.

IMG_0050

It was a fun hike and something different.  Now we’re off to my Aunt’s and Uncle’s for family time and a barbecue.
