One of the things that Jeff wanted to do while we were in SF for Fleet Week was tour one of the aircraft carriers. The USS Makin Island was open for free tours Saturday morning.
We got there before it opened and ended up waiting about an hour in line.
We had a “fresh out of the academy” officer as our tour guide.
The tour included most of the tanks/jets that they use. No private quarter tours since the Marines were all occupying them. We started inside with all the landing crafts first.
Then we moved upstairs to take a look at all the aircrafts they military uses.
A lot of the actual pilots were there to give us some background information on each aircraft.
