Sequoia National Park

One of the nice things about visiting the Three Rivers is that it’s very close to Sequoia National Park.  Crystal wanted to visit so we packed up half our party and went for the drive.

We pulled over a couple of places to take in the view.  It was in the high 90’s at the campground but as we continued to climb the temperature continued to drop.

You can tell you are getting closer to the middle of the park when the trees start to get huge!

We arrived at the entrance to Sherman Tree Trail.  It was a short walk to the General Sherman tree.

They weren’t supposed to climb on that big rock…oops!

The hike in isn’t too bad since it’s all down hill.

On our way out, there was a bear maybe 100 feet away.  Jeff tried to get a picture of it, but by then it had started to walk away.  Unfortunately some people jumped the fence to follow it.

While we were on our hike, Bean stayed back with Aunty Shannon.  I’d say she was pretty good for her Aunty.

Shannon was even able to take a video of our cabin while Bean was knocked out.

And then later that evening…knocked out again.

Since the prior night, the reunion group was so loud, Danny decided to move his tent to Chad’s spot on the other side of the group.  Unfortunately the group just continued to grow as the weekend arrived.  The group was up till 1am in the morning talking and laughing.  Apparently the 10pm quiet time was not enforced at all.
