It’s that time of year again!!
Every year Jeff and I go to the fair, sometimes we go more than once. We love to go see all the vendors, taste the samples, see the animals and play games…and of course EAT!
Last year we went with Danny, the girls and my Dad. This year was the same, minus Dad and plus Shannon. All week long I was checking the weather to ensure it wasn’t going to be a 100* day. With a high of 85* it seemed like perfect weather.
That is, until we parked and it started to rain. Not bad, but big fat heavy drops. We made it in the gates, but the nieces were not loving it.
Brooklyn didn’t even want to smile! Poor girls, they were dressed for the heat, not the rain. We decided to take refuge in the exhibit halls and headed there first.
Once inside we sampled some soup and then lots of dip. The girls found a vendor selling fairy wings for only $5! They got a lot of comments through out the day and we made sure to tell everyone where they bought them! Exhibit Hall #4!!
After a bit the rain stopped and we headed outside. We went first to the pony rides.
We walked over to the animals next, but stopped for pictures along the way.
Kalea and I both wanted to see the baby pigs, love them!!
Brooklyn ground some corn that they said would eventually be used to feed the animals.
By now the girls were getting a bit cranky and really wanted to go on some rides. They started first with a tug boat ride that went around in circles. We were worried about Kalea, but she did great! Our 4 year old niece is growing up. *sniff *sniff
WARNING: Photo Bomb, thanks a lot kid.
Much better!
They then went on a bee ride, Brooklyn was not amused. She thought it was too “baby”.
Brooky then sold Kalea on going through a fun house and it wasn’t until she realized Danny wasn’t going that Kalea started to panic. But Brooklyn was an awesome big sister and dragged Kalea through the ride held Kalea’s hand and helped her the whole time.
After the rides, we took a break to eat some food. Again, no pictures! I need to slow down when I eat. I had a falafel sandwich, Shannon had a chicken kabob (hers was so good) and Danny had a huge turkey leg.
Jeff waited and went to the food trucks.
There were about 5 in a row. Remember the one we saw one the freeway? Jeff tracked them down and had a Cajun Brawt. Danny went to a different one and had a Portuguese sausage wrapped in a potato spiral and all DEEP FRIED. He said it was good.
We played some games and then the girls went on one more ride.
We left after their last ride and headed home. Can’t wait until next year!
