If you were reading the blog about a year ago, you would know that the Disneyland 5k was not supposed to be the first race we ran. Last September we signed up for the Megan’s Wing 5k in Upland but I got sick right before and we ended up skipping the run.
The other day I received the below email in my inbox.
And then this happened.
A little over a week from now, Jeff and I will lace up our running shoes and run our second race. While the Disneyland 5k was a F-U-N race and the best one for a 1st, this race has a special meaning. The Megan Savage Memorial Run For A Cure is in honor of this little girl.
The race raises money to provide financial assistance to families with a child undergoing cancer treatments in Southern California.
Since families dealing with a sick child need to put all their focus on their loved one, it’s nice to know that they can have financial peace of mind.
Wish us luck! We are so excited and my have caught the racing bug.
