Congratulations La Serna Class of 2011!!!
Last night my younger cousin, Ashley, graduated from La Serna High School. Whoo Hoo!!! We are so proud!
Jeff and I had plans to leave my work at 4:30pm and head straight to the stadium. Too bad this happened…
Ugh. We had to drive all the way home grab the tickets and then drive all the way to Downey.
We arrived at the school about 15 minutes late and ran into C & C and my Dad and Danny. LOL, they should just call us SLOWlanos. I’m still not sure how, but we ended up sitting in the seats on the track, super close to the graduates.
With these two cuties behind us.
(Side Note: If Hailey ever needs some cash, people could totally hire her as a professional cheerer. The kid has a great pair of lungs and cheers on cue!!)
While the speakers were talking, we tried to spot Ashley. First in then program…
And then in the crowd. Can you find her?
Since her last name is closer to the beginning of the alphabet, we didn’t have long to wait until her row stood up to get in line to have their names called.
She saw us! Actually she saw Danny.
There was only 1 tiny mishap. Ashley’s name is Ashley Mary Chavez. See the name listed right above hers? Yep, 2 Ashley Chavez’s.
This is the first one. The one C & C, my Dad and uncle all cheered for.
And here is our Ashley!
Since Ashley was so early in the alphabet, we had some time to kill.
Finally it was time to turn the tassels.
Oops…
That’s better.
And then…
All of a sudden, the crowd started to boo and the graduates started to cheer. Danny or Jeff – I can’t remember - grabbed the camera and caught this.
I guess one of the grads thought it was a good idea to go streaking.
After the ceremony, we all went looking for Ashley to congratulate her.
Awww, sisters.
Congratulations Ashley!
