Countdown for Christmas

The weekend before Christmas, we all headed down to my Nana’s and Tata’s to help decorate and make our traditional Solano tamales.

Kenzie and I sat back and supervised while Paige, Sydney and Noelle decorated the tree.

While everyone else made tamales, Mackenzie tooks some pics.  It’s tough being so cute Winking smile

Oh Christmas Tree

Shortly after we returned from our trip we headed over to Home Depot to pick out Kenzie’s first Christmas Tree!

She was sort of oblivious to the fact that we were picking out a tree.

Jeff cut open like 5-6 trees before we finally settled on one.

Kenzie approved.

And I don’t remember why I took the below pictures, other than to show how cranky she can be.

Ah, the joys of motherhood. Winking smile

Santa Claus is coming…

A few nights after we came back from our trip, we heard a motorcycle cop driving through the neighborhood blaring his sirens.  Jeff (of course) went out to inspect and it was just a the police announcing that Santa was coming.

We bundled Kenzie up and went out in search of the jolly old man.

He was parked at the local park waiting to go on his little tour of the neighborhood.  We tried to get Kenzie to smile, but she just stared at everything that was going on.

Since we didn’t make it to the mall for a picture with Santa, I made Jeff go pose with this Santa.

Next year though, we’re going to the mall!

Sitting High

Since Kenzie was getting better at sitting up by herself and we knew solids were right around the corner, we decided it was time to open the high chair.

At first she didn’t know what to make of it…

But soon enough we were able to get some smiles from her.

While I’m getting excited to introduce her to new foods, I think the most excited is Chloe!  All those abandoned crumbs will be a treat for her!

Exploring the City

On Monday we decided to hit our favorite SF stops.  It was especially cold this trip so we bundled Kenzie up in a fleece onesie/blanket.

IMG_1914

Lol, poor Kenzie.  It ended up being a bit much so we dressed her in a warm outfit and bundled her up with her hat and blanket.  Our first stop was the Embarcadero.

Because we were going during the work week, it was so empty and we were able to stroll through it without having to bump into people.  Note to self, weekdays are the best time to go.

IMG_1918

We stopped for our traditional “meat cone” and because it was so empty, were able to make it to Blue Bottle Coffee – a stop I’ve been wanting to make ever since our first trip!

Our next stop was Pier 39, love this place!

The store where we bought all our seat assignment shells for our wedding.  Ahh…

After getting some holiday socks, we finished our sight seeing with a stop at Ghirardelli Square.

After our exploring, we went back to my mom’s to hang out.  The next day we drove all the way from San Francisco to home.  Kenzie did surprisingly well minus a short crying session when Jeff and I switched spots and I drove.

Our first trip with baby was a success!
