Ridin’ Dirty

Chloe’s been caught ridin’ dirty.

Earlier today we had a knock on our door.  Jeff answered it and sure enough, it was a lady with a badge.  A Humane Society badge.  Chloe was caught red handed pawed without a pet license.  Ridin Dirty indeed.

The lady is returning tomorrow for our $ but is Chloe fazed?

The other day I saw 6/24 approaching on the calendar and thought to myself…hmmm why is that day sticking out in my mind.  The day came and went without any other thought.

It wasn’t until I was on my way home from work today when it struck me.

June 24, 2007 was the day that Jeff proposed.  <3

I copied our engagement story from out About Us page.  Enjoy!

On June 24, 2007, Jeff and I decided to hike the Diamond Head Trail. We got up early and I had no clue what was going to happen. We stopped for some early breakfast and then drove to Diamond Head.

Half way up the trail I started having problems with my asthma. Of course being the well organized girl I am not my inhaler was down the trail locked safely in our car. We stopped for awhile and Jeff later told me he thought he would be proposing in the back of an ambulance. We continued after resting a bit and made it to the top.

It was CROWDED! By then I was hot, sweaty and wheezing. We took some scenic pictures and then decided to head down.

Right before, Jeff pulled me to a little area of to the side and proposed. I was so surprised, it completely came out of nowhere!

That inactive volcano will always hold a special place in my heart.

I love you babe!

Oh no we didn’t

Something crazy happened last night.

Other than Natosha Rogers FALLING and getting trampled during the 10k trials and then getting back up and placing second!!  #tracktown #olypmictrials #beast

Something crazy happened last night.  We signed up for this.

Yeah, I wouldn’t believe me either.  So…here’s the proof.

Already I’m dreading it excited!  It’s not until February and you can sure as heck bet, that if you are reading this…I’m expecting you in Huntington Beach, spectating with a sign that says something along the line of “You can do it Dione & Jeff!”

But wait until February, because if you go down there this weekend to spectate you’ll just be plain creepy.

Coincidentally this showed up in my twitter feed.

And now I’ll take that as a sign to go shopping.  I love me some Lululemon.

Missing a few days, but really, you don’t want to know what’s in my purse.  It’s boring.

Wet N Wild 5k

We had so much fun!!  The race was put on by Strong Ministries and had a new location this year.  In the past it was at Wild Rivers, this year it was at Knott’s Berry Farm & Soak City.

Normally Jeff and I like to pick up our race stuff the day before, but unfortunately I couldn’t get off of work so we decided to pick it up the day of the race.

We arrived at the park around 6:45am and parking was a breeze.  We walked down to the registration pick up and it was a zoo!  There were a ton of people in a small area, I think Jeff almost turned around and walked back to the car.

Eventually we got our packets and lined up at the starting line.   Since everything took awhile at check in, we were towards the back, but no big deal – we were heading into this race with the goal to just have fun.

What was nice about this course is that it’s almost run entirely through the two parks.

After the national anthem, we were off!

As soon as we started running, we start heading into the park.

One of my favorite things at Knott’s Berry Farm…the funnel cakes.  Smile

A majority of the runners wore the race’s tech tee, but a handful of runners chose to dress up.  The guy below was ready for that lazy river!

Jeff decided that he needed a break mid race.

About half way into the race, they had a band playing Christian music.  It was a great energy boost and some runners actually stopped and danced around a bit.  Oh, can’t see them?  Yeah, Jeff photo bombed me.

One guy in front of us ran the ENTIRE course without shoes.

Towards the end of the race was the big finale that makes it stand out amongst the other races.  The lazy river run.

They had bags ready for people to take off their shoes and put them in.  Jeff and I had long decided, just run the river with our shoes on.  So in we went, shoes & socks.

Maybe a hundred feet after the river, is the finish line.

After the finish, everyone is pushed through the water/orange/banana line and then straight to the expo.  It was very crowded and for those wanting to just go back to the car, they couldn’t.  There was literally only one way out.

While I don’t think this race is actually worth racing-the lazy river really slows you down since you are pretty much walking-it is a ton of FUN!

Jeff and I definitely want to do this one again next year!
