Welcome to the neighborhood!!

We have new neighbors!!!!

IMG_0250

By brother and SIL just closed on their first house!  And the best part, it’s only down the street from Jeff and I.  I am now in close proximity to all FOUR of my nieces!!!!!!!

They got their keys tonight and drove down to show us their place.

Downstairs is the dining room, living room and kitchen.

Right off the kitchen is their back patio.  Perfect for when Chloe comes to visit.  Winking smile

Even their courtyard is so cute.  Right outside their house is a huge water fountain that Hailey instantly fell in love with.

Jeff ate 5 miles for dinner

I always say Jeff is a better runner, better lungs, blah blah blah.  Sorry, I’m going to say it again.

Jeff’s HIM training had him running today, for 5 miles.  Since I did not have a 5 mile run planned for myself, he went on the first 3 along and swung around and picked me up for the last 2.

IMG_0220

He finished his first 3 in just over 31 minutes and then the last 2 in whatever 56 – 31 equals.  Straight through, no walking breaks!

I’m also going to give myself a small pat on the back because I ran with this beauty on my leg.

IMG_0222

The short story, I fell at Von’s and somehow ended up with this huge bruise.  And yes, it was the same Von’s as last time.  And no, my leg is not that white, my white balance is off on my camera.  Maybe.  Probably not.

Jeff & the nieces

When we originally were planning our SF trip, it was going to be Danny, the girls and me.  However when I ran it by Jeff, he decided he wanted to come too.

IMG_0122

Originally I was a little worried.  While Jeff loves his nieces, they can sometimes try his patience (it should be noted that ANY child can try Jeff’s patience.)  I warned Jeff, this was not going to be a regular trip to SF that he and I enjoy.  This trip was going to revolve around the nieces.  Whether they were cranky, tired of walking, etc would determine our day.

He assured me he understood and was prepared.

Happy to report, Jeff was AWESOME when it came to traveling with the nieces.  He had no problem stopping 2-3 times on the drive there and back.  He gave multiple shoulder rides to the girls when they grew tired of walking.  He had no problems changing plans at the last minute if the girls were not digging what we were doing.

And most of all, he did not lose his temper once!!

I was pleasantly surprised how well he vacationed with young children.

I don’t know Jeff, maybe you just proved you are ready for “the next step”.  Winking smile

Wii’s & Tri’s

We’re home!  Yesterday was a loooong ride home.

IMG_0216

For our last night in SF, we went to dinner where Kalea entertained me with some funny faces.

At one point in dinner, I found myself all by myself.  What the heck?

Kalea enjoyed her mini sundae after dinner.

Then we headed home where Kalea played photographer.

Towards the end of the night, Daniel put on the Wii for the girls to play.  Brooklyn was a good sport and let her sister “win” every time.

While we were in the city there was the Golden Gate Tri going on.  Yesterday morning we got up early to head down to Crissy Field to watch it.

We got there about 30 minutes before the first swim wave went out.

It was 51 degrees and the water was 59 degrees.  It was cold and I felt bad for those crazy athletes waiting around to jump into the ocean.

Finally the first wave of swimmers jumped into the water.

About 20 minutes later, the first few racers were emerging from the water and getting ready to transition to their bikes.

This was the first tri we’ve spectated and it was really fun!

Around 1pm yesterday, we left the city and promptly sat in 45 minutes of traffic to go less than 10 miles.  Then there were 2 parts on the 5 fwy where we sat in 1 hour + of traffic.  It was long but we finally made home by 9 pm.  Chloe was so happy to see us!!

Thank you Mom for everything!!
