Hello & Happy Birthday Kitty

Happy Birthday Hailey!!

IMG_8644

Today we celebrated Hailey’s 2nd birthday a little early.  She has her big family birthday party coming up but we did something small since my mom is in town.

We had decided on a Hello Kitty theme.  Each niece came dressed in their own Hello Kitty tee and had a HK goody bag waiting for them.

While we waited for the rest of the party to arrive (the cousins) Hailey and Noelle entertained themselves.  There were cookies eaten and toys played with.

Once the cousins arrived, we sat down to eat and the girls dug into their goody bags.  They each had a HK towel, notepad & pen, bracelets and wallet.

Whenever we have all 4 nieces together, we try to do a group shot.  Sometimes it works…sometimes it doesn’t.  Especially when a certain middle niece shoots daggers at you with her eyes.

We tried to get Chloe involved in the festivities but she did not enjoy wearing a party hat.

She preferred to chew it and show it who was boss.

By now the girls were needing to burn some energy.  They went outside to blow some bubbles.  Jeff had “magic bubbles” that the box declared were catchable.

They were pretty cool, until I realized they leave a residue after popping.  It dissolves pretty quickly but still, this bubble party needed to be moved to the park.  We didn’t stay too long and decided to head back in to eat some birthday cake.  You can see bits of white in our hair from the bubbles.

We had to wipe everyone down before letting them in.

We sang to the birthday girl and then let the girls eat their cupcakes.

Thanks to Crystal for making her yummy Carbonara.  It was delicious and definitely needs to be a repeat recipe.

What Rain?

The forecast for today was a day full of rain.  Hailey’s 2nd birthday party was cancelled due to this so called rain and rescheduled for 2 weeks later.

However, all day it looked like this.

Shannon, myself and my mom went to the Mills to look for some work clothes and running shoes.  By the time we were done I was so tired!

On the drive home, we noticed how low the snow was on the mountains.  We haven’t had snow on the mountains in so long.  It was so pretty.

Tomorrow we are celebrating Hailey’s pre-2nd birthday party at our house.  A little birdie told me the house will be decked out in Hello Kitty gear.  Winking smile

Good Morning Laguna

But first…Happy 2nd Birthday to the best fur daughter in the world!

Before we went home to celebrate with our puppy, we ate some breakfast and walked around the resort.  The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous.

Even though it was cloudy, you could see Catalina in the distance.

The inside is beautiful too and has a great view.

We got on the road but had to make a pit stop at downtown Orange.

I had been craving cupcakes and Jeff remembered about The Perfect Circle in downtown Orange.  The Perfect Circle is a shop that was recently featured on Cupcake Wars and won!  They shop is decorated in Tiffany blue, white and black.  I so wanted to take pictures but they had a sign on the door stating no photos.  Booo.

We got there a little early and had to wait for a bit.  By the time we made it in, there were already 4 people in line!  We chose 6 cupcakes to take home and enjoy.  Carrot, Red Velvet, Old Fashioned, Vanilla, Pumpkin and Lemon.

They have really cute names but I can’t remember them.

Now we are home and relaxing with our birthday girl!  Too bad they didn’t have puppy cupcakes.  Winking smile
