Jeff returned from his mini overnight work trip and came bearing gifts.

Nothing Bundt Cakes and prosseco.  So glad he’s home!

**Sidenote**  If there was any question that the husband wouldn’t be there for me in a “situation”, rest assured he was there, no questions asked.  Love you hubby!!

Working it out

This morning Danny had an early appointment so dropped the nieces off.  I was finishing my run on the treadmill when the girls announced they wanted to try it.

I set the pace to level 1 and both girls hopped on to go for a walk.

At first Kalea was so worried she was going to roll right off the back.  After assuring her she was fine, she began to have fun with it.

The the girls switched who was in front and Brooklyn brought up the rear.

Once the girls finished with their morning workout, we headed to Ikea to take a look at a couch.  I really, really wanted to love it but I just don’t think it’s going to be “the” couch.  Couch Hunt 2012 is still a go.

The girls needed to burn off some energy so they hopped on their bikes to ride around in the garage.

Brooklyn’s tire was flat so Jeff had to fill it up with air.  Jeff’s face is priceless.  I’m pretty sure this is 100% the way he feels when I ask him to take a picture.

IMG_0099

But he always does his best to smile for the camera anyway.

Too bad Brooklyn’s tire popped and we didn’t have a replacement inner tube.  #bikefail

I can’t believe it is already Sunday night and the work week is starting over!  Where is my winning lottery ticket when I need it??

Chino Hills Snow Day

Or really, it should have been called Chino Hills MUD Day.  I don’t know why but the entire park was a big squishy mud zone.  We arrived pretty early and as we were walking into the park, saw kids coming out COVERED from head to toe in mud.

IMG_0054 (480x640)

Since we walked right by the sleds, the girls jumped in line first.  Brooklyn by herself and Kalea with Daniel.

The made it out unscathed by the mud so decided to go for a second round.

Poor Daniel’s right side was covered in mud!  Even us bystanders couldn’t escape it.  Just from walking to one of the games, I stepped in a puddle of mud.

In the past there were a ton of games/crafts but this year it was pretty small.

IMG_0062 (640x480)

The girls played a few games and then stood in line to get their face painted.

A penguin for Kalea and…a penguin for Brooklyn.  Not sure what is with her face…

Then it was off to the snow pens.

IMG_0074 (640x480)

IMG_0075 (640x480)

Immediately once inside, Kalea began to assault Daniel with snowballs.  I’m surprised the two of them did not get kicked out or yelled at.

And then Kalea grew tired and asked to be removed.  Brooklyn stayed in a bit longer to play in the snow.

After the snow pens, Kalea convinced us to stand in line for the balloon girl.  While we waited Brooklyn went down the sled ramp at least another 10 more times (there was NO line by now).  After Brooklyn got her crown and Kalea got her butterfly, we called it a day and headed home.

I’m not sure why, but it was definitely a lot smaller than the past years.  I actually think Diamond Bar’s was better overall.  The sled lines were much longer, but there were more food vendors and games for the girls to play with.  We’ll see which one we attend next year.

Throw my squirrel

All day long, Jeff said Chloe kept trying to get him to throw her squirrel.

Come on Jeff, just do it!

I’m not paying a DIME!

I actually shouted that at one of my team members this afternoon.  She sits two desks away from me.  And had an upset customer on the phone.  #sorry  #oneofthosedays

For some reason this week has been ROUGH at work.  I’m not sure if it’s a full moon or the change in my medication, but I am literally on the verge of rolling my eyes at Every. Single. Person.

I got home today and so much wanted to do this…

IMG_8544

…but we didn’t have any wine.  So instead the husband went for chocolate.  Fudgey chocolate were my actual instructions.

IMG_0048 (480x640)

He’s downstairs making them as I type.  And just a glimpse into the new meds my doctor wants me to take.

IMG_0051 (640x480)

Come on?!?  I think she’s effing with me because that sucker is huge!  #twss

Enough complaining, I’m out.

Our House

It’s only taken us 3 years, but we have finally started decorating our house!  We are still deciding on a paint color downstairs, but that didn’t stop us from buying some stuff.

A couple of weekends ago, Jeff and I had headed over to Crate and Barrel to check out their sale items.  We already had the blue circle picture below and found the other 3 for half off!  We snatched them up and put them on the living room wall.  I love them!

Our other purchase was a nice, large sized lamp – also half off from Crate and Barrel!!  I’m not sold on the lamp shade, I think it’s too dark.  But lampshades are cheap and can be easily replaced.  I do love the base though!

And lastly, 2 frames from Target.  We had these pictures since November but needed frames for them.  Since they were going in the kitchen (obviously) we stuck with clean white frames.

While we are far from being done downstairs, our house finally has some personality!

Baking is Easy

For Christmas, Brooklyn received an Easy Bake oven.  Last weekend I had assured her that she could bring it over this weekend in one of those “yeah, yeah we can bake next weekend” moments.  Brooklyn is obviously related to elephants since she remembered and arrived yesterday evening with this.

IMG_0002 (2) (640x480)

On the menu for the evening – strawberry cookies with lemon frosting and chocolate chip cookies with chocolate frosting.

IMG_0009 (480x640)

Oh yeah, she came too.

IMG_0010 (640x480)

Brooklyn started to mix the dough and roll it into small balls.

IMG_0022 (640x480)

While Kalea made the startling realization that she was upside down in her spoon’s reflection.

IMG_0024 (480x640)

Once the balls were rolled, into the oven they went.

IMG_0026 (640x480)

IMG_0027 (640x480)

When it was time to make the frosting, we had a guest chef join us.

IMG_0037 (640x480)

IMG_0032 (640x480)

The cookies came out great and then it was time to move on to the chocolate chip cookies.

IMG_0034 (480x640)

Brooklyn and Kalea mixed dough…

IMG_0038 (640x480)

While Cole rolled the dough into small balls.

IMG_0045 (640x480)

And then we waited…

IMG_0035 (640x480)

Eventually Cole and Kalea decided to go upstairs to play with some toys.  Brooklyn stayed back to frost her cookies.

IMG_0046 (640x480)

IMG_0047 (640x480)

The cookies turned out pretty good, we sent Cole home with a couple (they are the size of a nickel/penny) and Brooklyn took home the rest.

Overall, an easy baking time!
