Thanksgiving Dinner

Our Thanksgiving day started off very leisurely when Jeff and I woke up at 8:30am!  But that was it, once we were up we were off!

We did a short run to allow for the extra turkey calories.  It was cold and windy so we kept it short.

After breakfast, we headed over to Danny’s to help the girls get ready in their special Thanksgiving outfits.  You can imagine our surprise when we arrived and saw Kalea wearing big girl panties!  Kalea has been testing out potty training this week and had already gone 2 times in the toilet by the time we arrived!  Hopefully she gets the hang of it quickly!

We got the girls ready and made them pose in their cute outfits.  Brooklyn even modeled off one of her recent school projects.

When we got to Nana’s and Tata’s it was crazy!  The girls had a blast spending time with everyone!

Kalea and Noellie, the little sisters.  They pretty much tired of taking pictures at the same time.  :)  Nollie is doing such a good job of sitting up.  Pretty soon she’ll be crawling!

Finally, it was time to eat!  We said grace and then sat down to eat.  Everything was so good!  I especially loved the yams and two stuffings!

It must have been all the kids around because Hailey was a ball of energy tonight!  She kept her Chad and then Crystal running back and forth.  I’m sure they’ll sleep as soundly as she will tonight!  At one point Shannon tried to put chapstick on Hailey.  She kept sticking out her tongue whenever Shannon got close.  It was too cute.

It was a great evening with family to start off the holiday season.  It’s going to be busy!  We have cooking making, a trip to San Francisco, SHOPPING, Christmas tree shopping, and three birthdays.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I Am Thankful For…

My Faith.  Without it, I would have nothing.  God has provided everything in my life and I’m truly blessed.  I’m daily humbled by His graciousness and love.

My husband.  He loves me, supports me and makes me laugh.  We’ve had a wonderful 11 years together and I cannot wait to grow old (in his case-older) with him.

My siblings.  I always tell Jeff the reason I don’t have a lot of external friends is because I have my sister and brothers.  They were my playmates when I was young and they are my friends now.  I know that they may not always agree with me but they will ALWAYS have my back.

My parents.  They raised me and made me the woman I am today.  I’m able to be confident and successful because of their love and support.

My four beautiful nieces.  Brooklyn is leaving her babyhood behind and has become so loving and helpful as she matures.  Kalea has a stubborn streak that is truly non negotiable.  Hailey is such a happy baby, even as she enters her terrible twos.  Noellie is content to be left alone watching cartoons.  They. Are. Perfect.

My Second Sister.  She’s easy going, hilarious and has a bizarre fear of spiders.

My husband’s family.  They have welcomed me with open arms and raised a truly awesome man.

My health.  Every morning I wake up and am able to get out of bed on my own.

My job.  Although it is truly not what I thought I would be doing, I have security and a pay check.  I’m fortunate for that.

My fur daughter.  Although she prefers Jeff, she’ll be my cuddle buddy when he’s not around.

I’m Number 1!

I told Brooky to pose in her new pajamas and she insisted she hold on to her Barbie trophy with a #1 one it.  Sometimes…

Also, a little birdie told me Kalea is testing out peeing in a toilet.  She has requested Tinkerbell panties.

My Ode to the Ungrateful

In honor of it being the Eve of Thanksgiving, I’d like to share with you the things I’m most unthankful for.

1.  Mosquitos

2.  Traffic

3.  The mythical place “No where” as in “the car came out of no where”

4.  Spiders

5.  Employees who come in late and leave early

6.  Chicken

7.  Companies that make their employees work on Christmas Eve

8.  Summer days when the temps reach 100+ degrees

9.  Dust

10.  Dogs that pee when you walk in the door

11.  Neighbors who feel it’s acceptable to blare music at 3:00am in the morning…on a Wednesday

12.  Turkey bacon, no matter what you do, it’s not bacon

That’s enough for now.  Check back tomorrow for a list of things I’m most thankful for.

Just In Time

I’m glad we pulled out Chloe’s raincoat.  It looks like it was just in time!
