6 Months

Dear Mackenzie,

I feel like this month you are definitely growing up.  You are starting to hit all these milestones that I couldn’t imagine you hitting when you were a tiny newborn.

I missed your 5 month recap and didn’t feel like dragging it on until now, so let’s sum up month 5 and 6 together.

Two days before your 5 Month milestone, you got your first tooth!  It was the bottom right and you were a pretty good champ dealing with it.  We spent your special day with Grandma in San Francisco.

Which brings us to Month 6!

Your second tooth quickly followed 11 days later.  You also didn’t make it through the holidays without coming down with your 3rd cold, poor girl.  It was during this time we also started to sleep train you…more on that later.

You are now quite the professional sitter!  You can go long stretches without falling over and even the doctor was impressed with your newest skill.

I have a feeling crawling is soon to come.  You are doing these baby push ups where you can get your entire tummy off the ground.

Daddy and I have started noticing you know who to work.  With him, you are a relaxed baby who can play contently by herself.  The second I walk in from work, you start to cry and demand to be picked up.  It works and I always rush to get in my hugs and kisses.

Look at those feet!  You are growing, growing, growing!  At your 6 month check up, the doctor announced you weigh 16lbs 4oz placing you 50% in weight.  You are a shorty though, only 25% in length.

We’ve been waiting for this month to start you on solids.  I can’t wait to talk about your experience with food next month.

Happy 6 months sweet Mackenzie!

Christmas Replay

The Saturday after New Year’s Jeff’s family came over to celebrate Christmas. It was unfortunately postponed because of some colds.  Even this weekend, we were missing Collin due to the flu.

We dressed Kenzie up in her Christmas finest, complete with a homemade headband!

Jeff’s brother, Andrew and his girlfriend Raelyn were able to join us.  Kenzie loves her Uncle & Auntie.  And her ball…loves that ball.

Kenzie was very excited to see her Grandma too!  Getting them both to smile on cue was a bit hard though. Winking smile

Even though it was a little late, we still had a very Merry Christmas!

Happy {New} Year!

Celebrating holidays is extra special when it’s your baby’s first.  Our little girl rang in the new year with an early morning wake up call.  This was actually the first time in awhile that I woke up BEFORE the Rose Parade.

Good Bye 2013–You Were The Best!

This year has to be one of my favorites.  We had a lot of fun and welcomed our sweet baby girl.  What a year!

We started the year with Mallorie’s 1st birthday and our annual snow fest with the nieces.

Jeff ran his first half marathon, and ended up running 2 more later in the year.

Noelle had a delicious ice cream party at Farrell’s.

Jeff and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary & later that month had a low key Memorial Day weekend.

I had a wonderful baby shower to welcome Mackenzie and right before she was born, we had one last family barbeque as a family of two.

The big event of the year – Mackenzie was born!

It took a bit to feel comfortable leaving the house with Kenzie, our first trip out was about 6 weeks later to Brea Fest and then the LA County Fair AND the Irvine Pumpkin Patch.

Kenzie celebrated her first Halloween by dressing up as a monster.

We had fun at Thanksgiving, she met Santa and then celebrated her first Christmas!

A Very Merry Christmas

Since we went to bed early(ish) on Christmas Eve, someone was up bright and early Christmas Day.

Before everyone arrived, I opened my present from Kenzie…

IMG_2052

A new Kindle!  My old reader was from Borders and out of date.  Shannon came over and added her presents to our tree.  We have 5 very spoiled little girls in our family!

Danny and the girls came over in the morning for some breakfast.

I should note that Kenzie chose Christmas Eve to start sitting up all by herself!  After breakfast, we opened our stockings first.
