Until the sun goes down

Thursday night Jeff and I decided that we would head out to the water Friday morning to reserve a spot for everyone.  We had a big group and needed to make sure we got a spot for all of us to fit.

Danny and Dad drove out there with us.  Danny had just bought a new pair of goggles and wanted to test them out by sticking his head out the window.

We got there super early, set up camp and then had about 2 hours to ourselves.  It was so quiet and peaceful.

Around 10am Jeff made us egg and ham burritos.

Around 11am everyone started to arrive.  Nana cracked open a beer. Winking smile

Even the ducks were there to hang out with us.

At one point Danny thought it would be funny to hook me to a tree stump and leave me there.

Kalea had so much fun, she was dancing on the top of the boat.

Sorry Danny, you are definitely going to have your hands full.

We had dinner on the beach and stayed until the sun went down.  Another great day!

{Sidenote} I got dumped again on Friday, this time by Jeff.  I kept my backup sunglasses this time but they did crack.  Two pairs lost to the river!

{Sidenote 2} The elevator in our hotel was so messed up!  It would stop on random floors and then skip our floor and go all the way back to the Casino.  Later that weekend we were literally down to one elevator that the maintenance crew controlled to pick up guest…on 24 floors.

Hitting the Road

Vacation time!!  After taking zero time off in July, I was more than ready for a vacation.

Thursday morning we got up bright and early (4:00am) and headed over to my Dad’s to meet everyone.  We hit the road and then began the drive out to Laughlin.  On the way we stopped for breakfast at the fanciest McDonalds.

IMG_0003

The McDonalds was connected to a candy store and Jeff picked up some gummies for the nieces.  Candy at 9:00am is totally okay on vacation!

We made it to the hotel, checked in and down to the water by 1:00pm.

It was cooler than last year, but still in the 100’s.  The day went well, except for one tiny thing…I lost my prescription sunglasses. Sad smile I convinced Shannon to go out on the seadoo with me and we somehow fell off during a turn.  She managed to hold on to her glasses and flip flops.  I just fell in.

We left as the sun was setting and then stopped at In N Out for dinner.  Danny was hungry!

It was a long day and the nieces crashed!

McKayla is NOT Impressed.

**Bah, this should have posted while we were out of town…a little late but I still think it’s funny!

Poor McKayla Maroney.  After falling during the vault final (she was favored to easily win gold) she was rewarded with the silver medal.  While many would be happy with that silver, while on the podium she gave an unimpressed look.

Instantly that look became a spoof and all over the internet McKayla was #notimpressed.

Click on the picture for some more things that don’t impress McKayla.

Even twitter was poking fun at her.

But, the girl has a sense of humor.

Happy Birthday Kalea!

IMG_0230

I love Kalea’s smile!  We all got together again tonight to celebrate Kalea’s birthday this time.  Same cake mold, different cake flavor.

IMG_0231

The only difference this time…Kalea had some extra candles on her cake.  And from the look on Brooklyn’s face you could tell something was up.

IMG_0233

Know matter how much she was blowing…the candles kept relighting.  She was saying they were magic before Danny pulled them off the cake.

Happy Birthday Kalea.  No matter how old you are, you will most likely always be our littlest niecie!!
