Run Hailey, Run!

One of the nice things about being off during the week is being able to attend school functions!  Hailey’s school had a jog-a-thon so Avery, Papa and I headed to her school to spectate. 

The led the kids around their coned off course one time and then started the race.  Unfortunately the kids didn’t grasp the concept and sort of just ran a muck for the first minute.  It was pretty cute.  Finally one of the event coordinators started running the course and the kiddos followed.

 

Hailey did great!  The kids could run a max of 36 laps and she did all 36, roughly 2 miles in warm weather!  At one point they invited siblings and parents to run with the kids.  Her cousin went out to run with her, but man I so wanted to join them!  Instead, I watched Bean sleep-not too bad!

I really wanted to get some cute newborn pictures so we made an appointment at our local picture place to take some of Avery.

I love how Avery turned out!  She looks so cute and all that hair!!  We made a quick outfit change and took some Easter pics with Kenzie.  These turned out adorable too!

Since she was such a good girl, Shannon took her on the train ride while we waited for the above prints.

Avery Turns 1 Month Old

Happy 1 month old my sweet bean!

It has been an interesting month, welcoming a newborn into our house again!  The first week was rough.  I forgot how newborns can mistake morning for night and night for day.  There were a couple of nights I slept on the recliner just to get you to sleep. 

Thankfully that didn’t last long and you started sleeping pretty well.  You typically only wake up 1 time a night and go back to sleep easily!  You are doing great at nursing, it just takes about 20-30 minutes for you to finish.  You don’t have the same sensitivity issue as big sister, and hardly ever spit up and burp pretty easily.

Big sister Mackenzie is also getting used to having you around.  She’s learned to be gentle when giving you kisses or hugs, and you get a lot from her!  She is obsessed about making sure you have your paci, so you have her to thank for having your back!

We pretty much stayed home this month, I wanted to be sure you stayed away from germs.  Although we stayed home, you had lots of visitors.  Your Uncle Chad and cousins came, Uncle Daniel and cousins came, Aunty Shannon has spent a ton of time with you.  Your Grandma and Grammy both saw you, and Papa!

The week Jeff went back to work, my mom came down to stay for 2 weeks.  It was such a help and really allowed me to spend time with Avery.

While my mom was here, she slept on an air mattress.  Kenzie loved crawling in there and having Grandma reading all her books to her.

 

 

My mom planted lavender in our front patio and Kenzie loved going out there and watering the plants with her.  She would spend hours out there with her.

A Little Daddy & Kenzie Time

Since Jeff recently started a new job, his vacation days are now very few.  Since he won’t be able to take much time off, he made it a priority to take Kenzie to Disneyland one more time during the week.

Since it wasn’t too crowded, they got to do a ton that day!  As soon as he got there they went to the Frozen Sing Along.

Then Olaf’s snow area and the Disney Jr Live Show.

 

As soon as they left Disney Jr, she saw her favorite character – Doc McStuffins!  Look at Kenzie’s smile, too cute!

While they did a ton more rides, Jeff also stayed for one of the parades.  He said as soon as they started blowing bubbles, she ran up to the front.

 

They also met Merida from Brave.  Jeff said she spent so much time talking to Kenzie and when Kenz got shy and looked at the ducks, she knelt down and started looking at them with her.  Love that!  He said by far, she was the best character they’ve met to date.
