8 Months

Dear Mackenzie,

Eight months sweet girl! Time is flying by!

I feel like this month you have decided to stop sleeping.  For what ever reason you hate being in your crib and have decided to cry until we hold you while you sleep.  No worries, since you have Daddy wrapped around your tiny finger, he doesn’t mind cuddling you. 

Even though you don’t sleep at night, it appears you are trying to drop a nap.  Thankfully it doesn’t affect your happy demeanor during the day!

You had a lot of fun this month too!  A Valentine’s day project at Aunty Sarah’s, a visit to mommy at her work, a visit with a new friend Marilene.  Lots of fun outside the house. 

It’s obvious that you are becoming more and more independent.  You can play for long stretches of time by yourself and guess what!  You held your own bottle for the entire time!   

You are also much more adventurous and have even attempted crawling up the stairs.

LEGO Friends

Time to celebrate!

Miss Hailey turned 5 and was ready to party!  What kind of party?  A LEGO Friends party!

Crystal made all the decorations and cut out all those circles to make “legos”.  Because of the rainy weekend, the party was moved indoors.  The kids played pin the lego head on the body (Samuel won!).

And then everyone tried to guess how many legos were in the jar (Shannon and Uncle Mark each guessed the same EXACT number!)

Instead of a traditional pinata, they had a pull pinata.  Only one of the ribbons was attached to the base that would release the candy. 

All the kids made out with a ton of candy.  And the cake…too cute! 

Happy birthday to the most joyful 5 year old I know!  I love you Hailey!!

Valentines weekend ended by visiting my friend and her daughter.  She was just turned 11 months in this picture & Mackenzie is 7 months.  At first playing was a little awkward.  Every time Kenzie grabbed a toy, Marilene took it away. 

But eventually they worked things out and played well side by side.  We promised that we would get together at least once a month so the girls can grow up playing together.

Next meet up?  Marilene’s 1st birthday!

My Little Valentine

Although I always sat in front with Jeff before Mackenzie…

Now that she’s here, the backseat is the place to be.

We celebrated Valentine’s weekend by doing a ton of errands, which gave me a ton of time making this little girl smile.

7 Months

Sweet Mackenzie,

The months are flying by!  Right after your 6 month mark you started to eat solids!  You were a little slow to start, one because of your tummy issues and two because you did not like anything but cereal and sweet potatoes.  This month was also a big month where we made the transition to all formula.  You didn’t skip a beat though and I’m so glad you adapted!

You have become the proficient crawler and even stood up on a toy for the first time. We have had to baby proof the house much sooner than I was expecting. Standing has also made bedtime pretty miserable. You just stand and cry in your crib.

We had another hotel stay, this time at the Disneyland resort. Mommy and Daddy can’t wait to take you back to actually go into Disneyland for the day.

Grandma Ama came down for a visit! You were very excited to see her and show how much you’ve grown.

On your 7 month birthday we found you that you won’t be the littlest cousin for long! Cousin Vanessa is expecting her second baby due July 27!

Don’t worry, you’ll still be our little “squishy” forever.
