Praying What?

The other day Jeff noticed that we had an uninvited guest in the house. 

How in the world did that bug get into our house?  We don’t leave the doors open and the house has been locked up with the air on due to the #heatpocalypse.

Jeff removed the bug and returned it outside.  So gross.

Tales From Kindergarten

Every weekend I ask Brooklyn and Kalea how their school week went. I usually get “fine” or “good” as a response but can get more details out of them with some strategically asked questions.

A couple of weekends back, Kalea had mentioned that she no longer plays with her best buddy Bing since he no longer went to her school.

I questioned Danny who did some follow up and confirmed Bing was moved to a different class due to classroom size. Kalea had mentioned that she did start to play with another boy from a different class, but didn’t remember his name.

This last weekend I asked if she saw Bing on the playground anymore and she said no and dropped it. I then asked if she remembered the new boy’s name that she plays with, she didn’t so I dropped it. Then she volunteered…

“Me and the boy meet at the hotel and play prince and princess”.

WHAT HOTEL???

With a little bit more probing I figured out that the hotel is actually the cafeteria. Whew!

I’m still trying to get this “new” boy’s name. To be continued next weekend…

I hung out with Hailey and Noelle for a bit after work until Aunty Shannon arrived.  I swear Shannon gives them candy because as soon as they see me, they go “where’s Aunty Shannon?”

Hailey was showing me her hat she made at church while Noelle kept referring to herself as Noellie. 

While I was serving Noelle her dinner Hailey kept saying she wasn’t hungry.  Until we sat down and then she mowed down on my chips.  When I mentioned if she was hungry I could serve her the food her mom made, she replied “no chips are fine”.  Ha!

After dinner we moved to the living room to watch “baby” Wall-E and Hailey finally ate her dinner.

Right before I left I was teasing Hailey and then winked at her.  She looked confused so I told her a wink is like saying “just kidding”.  C&C if she starts blinking rapidly at you…she’s winking.

A new trick

Jeff and I had a lazy Saturday planned until these two showed up in the afternoon.  Danny and the girls stopped by on their way back from the beach and jumped in the pool since they were already dressed for it. 

Brooklyn wanted to show off her new trick…floating. 

She made Shannon and I crack up when she began to float on her stomach instead of her back.

Triple Digits

Seriously the weather has been out of control.  We’ve had more days of 100+ degree weather than not.  I can’t even remember the last time I opened a window.  I’ve been stalking my weather app excessively, just watching the temps going up.  I’m so ready for fall.  Can you tell?

Yep, 108 in my part of the US. 

Because we’ve been living on the surface of the sun it’s been hot, last weekend Brooky and I ran late at night.  We went shopping for some new running clothes and she was super excited to try them out.

Doesn’t she look totally legit in the picture above on the right??? 

Look at those legs!  Blurred because she’s running so fast!  She’s doing her first kid’s race in a couple of weekends and is beyond happy that everyone gets a medal.
