Bonelli Olympic Tri

In preparation for one of Jeff’s upcoming events next year, he signed up for the Bonelli Olympic Triathlon.  This was his first time doing a tri at the Olympic distance. 

We dropped Kenzie off at Shannon’s around 6am and then hit the road by 6:10am.  It was a short drive before we hit the tri traffic.

We parked a lot closer than last time and then walked Jeff over to transition.  Jeff set up his stuff and then we walked down to the beach.  There were two distances racing today, Olympic and Sprint.  Jeff was in the first wave for the swim, so he didn’t have to wait long to take off.

I caught Jeff as he was exiting the water but didn’t have time to take a picture.  I left the memory card for my camera at home and was left with my junky phone (hence the terrible pictures). 

Jeff made the transition to bike and I was able to catch him again out of the transition area.  Right before I saw him, I heard another cyclist ride by saying they hope that was the only crash they saw.  I thought to myself, I bet that’s Jeff.  Sure enough, Jeff rode by brushing off his shirt. 

The bike was the longest of Jeff’s events and I had some down time waiting for him.  Shasha was sending me Kenzie pictures to pass the time.

The bike consisted of 3 loops so I was able to see Jeff three times before he rode in for his last transition.

By now it was getting hot and I knew after an almost 1 mile swim and a 25 mile bike that Jeff was going to have a tough run.  He came out of transition looking tired and immediately turned to head up a steep hill. 

I waited towards the finish line and was able to spot Jeff running it in.  He actually looked pretty good.  His posture was still straight, arms still pumping and of course he was still smiling!

I caught up with Jeff shortly after he finished and he was exhausted!  But you could tell he was happy he finished!  He gave me the details of his bike crash (some lady cut him off, forcing him to the shoulder) and showed me all his road wounds.

Nana’s & Tata’s

This Saturday Nana & Tata decided to have a last minute garage sale.  We didn’t have a ton of stuff but decided to head over to their house to visit. 

On the way we stopped for some sweet bread.  This place doesn’t look like much but it seriously makes the best bread.

Chloe came with us.

I handed over my camera to Noelle and she took the below picture and than instagrammed it.  Pretty darn good for a 3 year old!  I especially love that Kenz is in the background sleeping.

Movie Time!

Yesterday all of us (minus Jeff & Kenz) went to the movies to see Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2.  Hailey & Noelle were the first to arrive so they posed next to the display of the next Disney movie, Frozen. 

The movie was okay, a little weird but the girls seemed to enjoy it.  Kenzie was at home doing this…

She is really loving her Bumbo seat.  She took it to Sarah’s today and I got the below picture.  She looks adorable!!

2013 Megan’s Wings 1k

It’s been one year since Brooky ran her first kid’s race.

Brooky had so much fun this first race that she decided to run it again!  We left the house a bit late this time, 6:52am, but still made it to the park in plenty of time to find good parking and walk around a bit. 

The girls did their thumbprint butterflies.

Danny and Brooky made their way over to the start line a bit early, which worked out perfectly since the race started 5 minutes early!

Shannon, Kalea and I stood by the finish line to capture Brooky as she ran by.  Jeff was just past the finish line and caught her getting her medal.

She finished 18th kid!

After the race we headed over to Molly’s Souper for breakfast. 

The last time Jeff and I went was the Sunday before Kenzie was born.

1st Day of Daycare

Two weeks ago Mackenzie had her 1st day of daycare!  Crystal’s sister Sarah will be watching Mackenzie while Jeff and I are at work.  She went part time her first week to get used to being in a different environment.

From the looks of things, she appears to be just fine.
