Laughlin Bound

We’re home!!  It was H-O-T but we had a ton of fun.  Since I didn’t have internet access at the hotel, here is a flashback.

Family vacation time!

The last time we went on a family vacation with everyone, Kalea was being born.  It has been awhile to say the least!

We got up early and hit the road to Laughlin.  The drive is approximately 4 hours and looked a lot like this.

Many times we were the only two cars on the road.

After the four hour trip, we finally made it!

After we checked into the hotel, we made the (long) drive down to the launching deck for the boat and sea doo.  Jeff did an awesome job backing the car into the water for Danny to unload.  But as he was telling everyone all day, he used to back up helicopters in the military-he could definitely handle a sea doo!!  Winking smile

Because we had 14 people in our party and the boat only fit 6 we had to make multiple trips.  My boat was the “special” boat.  Nana that doesn’t like boats, a pregnant Vanessa and 2 little kids.  But glad to report, we made it just fine and started to set up the beach before the second boatload came by.

Danny and Doug followed on the sea doo.

Once we unloaded and got settled, we cooled off in the water.

And tried to feed our wild chipmunk friend.  Do you see him?

We took turns taking the sea do out for a spin, here are Doug and Ash.

Towards the end of the afternoon, some ducks wandered into our area and the girls enjoyed playing with them.

As the sun set, we loaded up the boat and made our way back to the cars.

We are in for the night and planning for a long day on the water tomorrow.  The only thing that I would change about today…is Chloe!  We had to leave Chloe behind because she would not do well in the heat.  This is her first time not staying with family (a neighbor is keeping an eye on her) and I hope she’s doing okay.  We may break down and call tomorrow to check on her.

Wish you were here Chloe!!

Stay tuned for Day 2 of our trip.  Smile
