After a delicious and very filling dinner last night (seriously Jeff out did himself) Crystal suggested a trek down to her place to burn off some calories…and to show us the progress they made.
We made the walk there with no problem and went inside to check out their place. No kidding they made progress! They are almost completely done with the paint portion!! I’m really loving Noelle’s room (lavender) and the color in the master bedroom (a blue grey). Luckily for me, we had picked out something similar.
When it was time to go home, we found the middle cousins playing in the grass outside.
I don’t know what they were doing but what one did, the other followed. The below picture is blurry but I wanted to add it. They looked so cute just laying down in the grass, enjoying a summer night.
By now it was time for the walk home. I was a little worried since one of the nieces {Kalea} does not do so well when forced to walk long distances (uh, half a mile). She does best when she’s distracted so I tried to keep that in mind.
Jeff rode by in a much quicker means of getting home than a 3 year old’s stride.
But he stopped for a photo opportunity. We were trying to get Kalea on last and as we picked her up, her shoe fell off.
She was so mad that we didn’t let her get her shoe on that she refused to smile for the picture.
Right after we crossed the street, Jeff spotted this little guy.
Kalea and Hailey got really close to inspect it and Hailey even worked up the nerve to touch it…right before it jumped into the bushes.
The rest of the walk home, the middle cousins held hands. So cute!!
Then Kalea decided she wanted to not be touched and tried her best to get away but Hailey would have none of that. At one point she was tucking Kalea’s arm under her chin.
We finally convinced Hailey it was more fun to chase Chloe.
And at the end of our 1/2 mile walk, we were home. Whew! The girls had another round of watermelon for dessert and then Hailey captured the picture below.
I cannot wait until they move into their new house!!
