Yesterday, Jeff and I started our morning bright and early and decided to drive along the coast to see the neighboring cities. Of course we needed to start with coffee. Jeff thought it was a smart idea to try out Coffee Bean’s 32 oz iced coffee!!! And he finished it!!
We drove away from Redondo and towards Palos Verdes.
The drive was beautiful and we ended up stopping at Pointe Vicente to walk around and snap some pictures.
They had a small visitor’s center that we walked through and a lot of paths and sitting areas for guests to enjoy. Jeff mentioned it would have been a perfect place to bring the niecies for a picnic. Ahhhhh!!
As we were getting ready to leave we saw the below sign. WHAT?
Pointe Vicente used to be Marineland!! If you don’t know if you remember Marineland it was a sea park similar to SeaWorld. During it’s time, it was the largest one of it’s kind. It was closed in 1987 when SeaWorld bought it out and shipped the animals to their location and then closed the park.
After awhile, we got back in the car and kept driving. We drove by Trump Golf Course and then down to Long Beach to check out the cruise boats.
We drove over the Vincent Thomas bridge and then turned around and made our way back to the hotel.
Once back in the area, the weather was warm and people were out! Hermosa Beach Pier was packed with beachgoers!
We stopped in to Joe’s for some drinks to cool off and then went back to the hotel to nap. Hotels make me so sleepy. It must because I know there’s nothing that needs to be cleaned or a puppy to be walked.
After resting, we got ready and had dinner at Chart House. It was pretty crowded and I don’t know why, but we didn’t get any pictures while we were there.
Back at the hotel.
It was a great weekend!
